Bangladesh’s gross foreign exchange reserves rose to $36.16 billion as of October 8, according to Bangladesh Bank spokesperson Arif Hossain Khan.

The central bank’s latest data showed that gross reserves stood at $36.15856 billion on Thursday, while reserves calculated under the International Monetary Fund’s Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual, Sixth Edition (BPM6), reached $31.34944 billion.

On October 7, gross reserves stood at $36.12358 billion, while reserves under the BPM6 method amounted to $31.31119 billion.

The figures indicate that gross reserves increased by around $34.98 million in a day, while reserves calculated under the BPM6 method rose by approximately $38.25 million.

The BPM6 measure is used to assess reserve assets under the IMF’s methodology. Net or usable reserves are assessed by accounting for relevant short-term liabilities and other adjustments.
