Fire at Chawkbazar Solaiman Tower under control

(BSS) - A fire that broke out at Chawkbazar Solaiman Tower of the city has been brought under control.

Six units of the fire service from Lalbagh, Palashi Barracks and Siddikbazar reached the spot and brought the blaze under control around 9:50 am, Fire Service and Civil Defense Media Cell Officer (inspector) M. Anwarul Islam told BSS.
The fire originated around 8:59am on the ground floor of the 6-storey building, he said.
"Two shops including a pharmacy were damaged due to the fire. The cause of the fire and the extent of damage are not yet to be known. However, no casualties were reported so far," he added.
