Grocery shop fire in Bagerhat killed a 17-year-old boy.



Bagerhat, Feb 23 --A 17-year-old boy was burned to death in a fire which broke out at a grocery shop in Kachua upazila of Bagerhat district on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Aminur Rahman, 17, son of Rezaul Munshi of Dopakhali village of the upazila.

The two injured are Habib, 20, and Hriday, 18, of the same area. Of them, Habib's condition is critical, the doctors said.

Station officer of Chitalmari Fire Station SM Abdul Wadud said a fire broke out at the shop of Badiruzzaman Bachchu from an electric short-circuit around 4pm and spread soon.

Locals rescued the injured and sent them to Bagerhat district hospital first.

Later two of them were transferred to Khulna 250 Bed Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Aminur dead, added the officer. - UNB
