Three jhut (garment factory wastes) warehouses were gutted as a fire broke out at Manipur in Pirujali of Gazipur district early Sunday.

Abdullah Al Arefin, deputy –director of Gazipur Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the fire broke out at a jhut warehouse around 2:15 am and soon engulfed the adjoining two more warehouses.

On information, four firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control after two hours, reports UNB.

The reason behind the fire and the extent of losses caused by the fire were yet to be known, said Abdullah.
