Chattogram, Apr 10 - At least 40 tin-shed houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at AC Mosque Road slum at Halishahar area of Chattogram port city. 

Udayan Chakma, station officer of Agrabad Fire Service, said the fire broke out at the slum around 9:30 on Tuesday night and engulfed it soon.

On Information, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze around 11:10 pm.

Primarily it is suspected that the fire originated from an electric short circuit.

However, no casualty was reported and the extent of the losses caused by the fire could not be ascertained yet.-UNB
