Six members of a family burn to death in Sunamganj fire

Sunamganj, Oct 01- Six members of a family including four children were burnt to death as a house of an Ashrayan project caught fire in Dharmapasha upazila  of Sunamganj district on Tuesday night.

The victims were identified as day labourer Emarul Mia, 55, his wife Poly Akter 45, and their children-Polash, Farhad, 7, Fatema Begum and  Omar Faruk 3.

Enamul Haque Officer-in-Charge of Dharamapasha police station confirmed the deaths.

According to police and witnesses, the fire started after midnight in one of the project’s houses where Emarul and his family members were asleep.

Neighbours noticed the smoke and rushed to the scene.

When police and local residents broke into the house, they found the six charred bodies.

Police said the fire might have originated from  an electrical short circuit. - UNB
