Fire breaks out at Barishal hospital

A fire broke out at medicine building of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) on Sunday morning.


The fire was first reported after a local resident noticed smoke coming from the hospital's medicine building and immediately alerted the fire service, said Assistant Director Dr. Moniruzzaman Shahin of (SBMCH).

Seven fire service units are currently working to bring the fire under control. In addition to the fire service units, local volunteers have also joined efforts to extinguish the fire and prevent further spread, reports UNB.

No casualties have immediately been reported. There have been no details about the extent of damage.
