Fire breaks out at Banani apartment

A fire broke out in a six-storey building in the city's Banani on Thursday.


Fire Service and Civil Defence officials said the fire started around 5:55am in a flat on the 2nd floor of a 6- storey building in the area..

Being informed, two firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control by 7:10am, duty officer of Fire Service headquarters Khaleda Yasmin told UNB.

The fire was caused reportedly due to an electric short circuit.

No causalities were reported in the incident.
