Fire at election office in Gopalganj: Important docs burnt

Some important documents were damaged at a fire that broke out at Kashiani Upazila Election Office in Gopalganj district early Sunday.

Some important documents were damaged at a fire that broke out at Kashiani Upazila Election Office in Gopalganj district early Sunday.
Locals said they noticed the fire at the ground floor of the office at dawn after offering Fajr Salat and informed upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) Mehedi Hasan.
Later, the UNO called a fire service station.
On information, fire fighters rushed to the spot and douse the blaze.
UNO Mehedi Hasan said they yet to find out the actual cause of the fire.
Gopalganj district election officer Faizul Mollah said some important documents were burnt in the fire.
They were investigating over the incident, Faizul added.
