200 fisher families get cash support in Kalapara

Fisheries week rally in Kalapara.

Patuakhali: On the occasion of National Fishery Week, 2023, cash assistance of Tk 5,500 has been provided to 200 helpless fishermen families of Mombipara and Musulliabad of Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali through development. On Monday at 10 am in the hall of the Kalapara Upazila Top Parishad, the local member of parliament as the chief guest at the opening and discussion program of National Fisheries Week. Mohibbur Rahman inaugurated the programme.

Kalapara UNO Md. Upazila Senior Fisheries Officer Apu Saha delivered the welcome address in the program presided over by Jahangir Hossain. Acting Chairman of Upazila Parishad Shahina Parveen Seema, Senior Scientific Officer of Kalapara Fisheries Research Institute spoke in the program among others. Ashraful Haque, Kalapara Police Station OC Ali Ahmed, Kalapara Press Club President. Humayun Kabir, Eco Fish-II Associate Researcher Sagarika Smriti, Mahipur Fishery Port Traders Association President Didar Uddin Ahmed Masum Bepari and others. Besides, Navy and Coast Guard Officers, Upazila Fisheries Office Officers, Fishermen and Fishermen from various Unions and news workers were present.

At the end of the meeting, crests were distributed to 5 successful fishermen and 1 first aid box and life jacket were distributed to 30 fishermen.
