58 fishermen fined for using banned nets in Bhola

Fisheries Department of Char Fasson upazila in several drives in the Meghna River fined 58 fishermen for catching fishes with banned nets.

District Fisheries Officer Abul kalam Azad led the drives started in the morning in the River Meghna and ended Tuesday afternoon.

He said five engine-run boats, four small boats, 260 kgs of Jhatka, five banned nets, one mosquito net and 100 pieces anchors were seized during the drives.

Upazila Fisheries Officer Maruf Hossain, Marine Fisheries Officer Md Saidur Rahman and a team of police accompanied Azad during the drive.
