Dhaka, Jun 23 - Russia has offered to export two lakh metric tons of wheat to Bangladesh, Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder said told the Parliament on Thursday.

In reply to a tabled question from Awami League MP from Dhaka Shafiul Islam, the minister said that foreign ministry has approached different wheat exporting countries for import as the prices of wheat and flour had gone up along with various food grains due to the war between Ukraine and Russia.

“Russia already has offered to export two lakh metric tons of wheat to Bangladesh. Besides, a letter has been sent to the Bangladesh High Commission in Delhi to import wheat from India at government and private levels,” the food minister said. - UNB
