Sheikh Russel blank Arambagh 3-0 in BPL
DHAKA - Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited moved up sixth position in the points table as they recorded a comfortable 3-0 goal victory over struggling Arambagh Krira Sangha in the Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur.
In the proceeding, Nigerian midfielder Ugochukwu Obi Moneke, Tajik defender Siyovush Asrorov and Kyrgyz midfielder Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov scored one goal each to secure Sheikh Russel’s ninth victory in the league.
Ugochukwu Obi Moneke put Sheikh Russel KC ahead in the 34th minute while after the lemon break defender Siyovush Asrorov doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Sheikh Russel in the 80th minute of the match.
Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov completed the winners’ tally scoring the third goal for Sheikh Russel converting a spot kick in the 90+4th minute of the match.
With the day’s victory, Sheikh Russel collected 30 points from 19 matches while bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha, who are struggling to skip relegation, remained at their previous credit of five points playing 18 matches.
Earlier, in the first leg, Arambagh Krira Sangha were blanked by Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra by 4-0 goals held at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
