Sheikh Jamal return winning streak as Pa Omar Jobe score hat-trick

DHAKA - Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe scored a brilliant hat-trick as Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club returned winning streak with an overwhelming 5-1 goal victory over Uttar Baridhara Club in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS).

In the day’s match, Pa Omar Jobe scored a hat-trick with three goals while his countryman  Sulayman Sillah supported him with two goals in the one-sided affairs after Sheikh Jamal led the first half by 2-1 goals.  Reza netted the lone goal for Baridhara.

Sheikh Jamal’s prolific striker Pa Omar Jobe opened an account scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 15th minute and he doubled the lead scoring his second goal in the 23rd minute of the match.

Striker Sumon Reza pulled one back scoring the first goal for Uttar Baridhara in the 33rd minute while after the breather forward Sulayman Sillah further widened the team’s margin scoring the third goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 70th minute of the match.

Pa Omar Jobe completed his hat-trick scoring his third and fourth goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 75th minute of the match while Sulayman Sillah  sealed the victory scoring his second  and fifth goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 90+3rd minute of the match.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Uttar Baridhara Club were totally off-colored, except the day’s lone goal.

The day’s win saw Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club moved up to second position in the league table with 42 points from 20 matches while Uttar Baridhara Club remained at their previous credit of 16 points playing 20 matches.

Earlier, in the first leg, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club were forced to play a 3-3 goal draw by Uttar Baridhara Club held at the same venue.    

Friday’s matches: Abahani Limited Dhaka, vs Saif Sporting Club at 4pm and Bangladesh Police Football Club vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at 6.15 pm, both at BNS.BSS
