Sheikh Jamal DC beat Police FC 2-1 in BPL

DHAKA - Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmnondi Club stayed on the runners-up race as they came from behind to beat Bangladesh Police Football Club by 2-1 goals in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS) here.

In the day’s match, Kyrgyzstan midfielder Murolimzhon Akhmedov put Bangladesh Police Football Club ahead in the 19th minute but the lead lasted for few minutes when Jahangir Alam Sajeeb of Bangladesh Police Football Club scored an own goal in the 23rd minute of the match.

Gambian forward Sulayman Sillah however sealed the victory for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club in the 38th minute of the match.

Bangladesh Police Football Club however tried heart and soul to stage a fight back in the match creating some chances but could not convert any lack of proper finishing.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi club dominated the proceedings and notched their deserving victory while Bangladesh Police Football Club were off-colored, except the day’s lone goal in the first half.  

The day’s win saw three times league champions Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club still stayed on the runners-up race with 45 points from 21 matches while Bangladesh Police Football Club remained at their previous credit of 22 points from 21 outings.

Tuesday’s matches: Chittagong Abahani Limited vs Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society at Army Stadium at 4 pm, Abahani Limited Dhaka, vs Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at BNS at 4 pm and Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra vs Brothers Union Club at BNS at 6 pm.BSS
