Rahmatganj stun Ctg. Abahani

DHAKA - Chittagong Abahani Limited lost valuable points in the race of runner-up fight as they were stunned by Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-0 goals in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football match today at Bangladesh Army Stadium.

In the day’s match, Nigerian striker Felix Chidi Odili and defender Mahmudul Hasan Kiron scored one goal each for Rahmatganj after the match was locked goalless at the breather.

After the barren first half, Felix Chidi Odili finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Rahmatganj in the 81st minute while Kiron sealed the victory scoring the second goal for Rahmatganj in the 90+2nd minute of the match.

Rahmatganj, played better football in the second half and snatched the victory while Chittagong Abahani Limited, despite creating some scoring chances, failed to stage a fight back in the match.

The day’s win saw the traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society improve their tally with 21 points from 21 matches while the port city team Chittagong Abahani Limited remained at their previous credit of 40 points from 22 outings.       

Earlier, in the first leg, Chittagong Abahani blanked  Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-0 goals at a match held at Bangabandhu National Stadium.BSS
