Bangladesh lose to Nepal in first friendly match

DHAKA- Bangladesh national eve football made a losing start in the FIFA tier-1 two-match friendly series as they suffered a
1-2 goal defeat to host Nepal in the first match held today (Thursday) at Dasarath Stadium in Kathmandu.

     In the day's match, Sabita Rana opened an account scoring the first goal
for Nepal in the 14th minute while Preeti Rai doubled the lead scoring the
second goal in the 23rd minute of the match.

     After the breather, Tohura Khatun reduced the margin scoring a lone goal
in the 83rd minute of the match.

     In the remaining proceeding, Bangladesh however tried heart and soul to
stage a fight back but could not convert any goal.

     After the match, head coach Golam Robbani Choton said his girls played
competitive football after a quite long period of time. They also get back
their self confidence from the match.

     He also hoped that his side would come back strongly in the next game.

     The second match of the series will be held on Sunday (Sept. 12) at the
same venue.

     Both Bangladesh and Nepal are participating the two-match series as part
of their preparation for their AFC Asian Women's Cup qualifiers.

     Bangladesh - Rupna Chakma , Masura Parvin, Nilufa Nila, Shamsunnahar,
Sheuli Azim, Moushumi, Maria, Monika, Sabina, Srimoti and Shopna.

     Nepal - Gita, Bhujel, Amrita, Preeti, Bimla, Anjila, Renuka, Saru,
