Sheikh Russel Chess competition held

DHAKA - The day-long Sheikh Russel Chess competition
was held today (Thursday) at National Sports Council in the city.

   State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russel, MP,
formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest, organised by Sheikh Russel
Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parishad.

  Sheikh Russel Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parisad's adviser Sirajul Islam Mollah,
Sheikh Russel Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parisad's organizing secretaries and
Dhaka South City Corporation 20 No ward councillor Farid Uddin Ahmed Ratan
and Alauddin Saju, among others, were present in the inaugural ceremony,
presided by the Sheikh Russel Jatiyo Shishu Kishore Parisad's secretary
general KM Shohid Ullah.

  Near about hundred juvenile chess players took part in the day long meet,
which was arranged to mark the Sheikh Russel Day on October 18 and birth day
of Shaheed Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

   Earlier, the books of unfinished autobiography of Bangabandhu and sports equipment were distributed among the participants.BSS
