Sri Lanka win toss and bat against Afghanistan

Hambantota, Sri Lanka, 4 June  - Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first in the second one-day international against Afghanistan at Hambantota on Sunday.

Sri Lanka made four changes for the game, bringing in Sadeera Samarawickrama, Dushmantha Chameera, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana.

They left out Angelo Mathews, Matheesha Pathirana and Dushan Hemantha, while Lahiru Kumara is unfit having picked up a hamstring niggle halfway through his fifth over in the first ODI.

Afghanistan, who lead the three-match series 1-0 having won the first game by six wickets, opted for the same side that played Friday.

They are without the services of star leg-spinner Rashid Khan, who is nursing a lower back injury. He is expected to be fit for the final ODI.

The Afghans are through to the sport's showpiece event -- the ICC ODI Cricket World Cup -- later this year in India, while Sri Lanka have to play a qualifying round later this month in Zimbabwe.

Sri Lanka squad: Dasun Shanaka (captain), Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis, Matheesha Pathirana, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Kasun Rajitha.

Afghanistan squad: Hashmatullah Shahidi (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Fareed Ahmad Malik, Rahmat Shah and Ibrahim Zadran.
