Bangabandhu, Bangamata Divisional Gold Cup Football tournament u-17 ends

Khulna, 31 Oct -Bangabandhu Divisional Gold Cup Football Tournament Boys (Under-17) and Bangamata Divisional Gold Cup Football Tournament Girls (Under-17) ended here this afternoon with a prize giving ceremony at Khulna Divisional Women Sports complex.

Khulna Divisional Administration and District Sports Association jointly organised the closing ceremony with the assistance of the Directorate of Sports.

President of Divisional Women's Sports Association Meherunnesa Jui was the chief guest while Additional Divisional Commissioner Md. Tabibur Rahman presided over the ceremony.

The ceremony was addressed by President of District Women's Sports Association Farhana Binte Aziz, Deputy Director of the Sports Council Khulna Md. Abul Hossain Howladar and General Secretary of District Women's Sports Association Halima Islam as special guests.

District Sports Officer Md Bakhtiar Rahman Gazi delivered the welcome speech.

The chief guest said sports are essential for physical fitness and for the sound mind and the students should play sports regularly side by side with their studies.

The speakers also called upon the parents to encourage the boys and girls in the sports.

In the Bangabandhu Divisional Gold Cup Football Tournament Boys (U-17), Khulna district football team achieved the champion trophy and Satkhira District team was the runner-up in the division.

In the Bangmata Gold Cup Football Tournament Girls (U-17), Magura District football team received champion trophy and Khulna City football team was the runner-up.

Mentionable, Divisional Bangabandhu Gold Cup Football Tournament Boys (U-17) and Bangamata Gold Cup Football Tournament Girls (U-17) started on October 25.
