Dhaka, 28 Feb - The Bangladesh U-16 women's national football team reached Nepal Wednesday to participate in the four-nation SAFF U-16 Championship which will be held from March 1-10 in Nepal.

All the players of the team are well and fit, according to a message received here from Bangladesh Football Federation.

The team is scheduled to hold their first training session this afternoon.

Earlier, in the morning, the eve football team left here for Nepal to take part in the championship.

Four teams - Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Bhutan -- from the region will participate in the tournament.

The tournament will be held in single round-robin system and each team will play each other. The top two teams will qualify for the final.

Bangladesh, who won the title of the SAFF championship in 2017, will start their tournament campaign taking on Nepal on March 2 before facing India on March 5. The girls in red and green will play their ultimate match against Bhutan on March 8 before the title-deciding final match scheduled to be held on March 10.

All the matches will be held at Chyasal Stadium, Lalitpur city, near to Kathmandu.
