Police FC reach semifinal

Dhaka, 23 Apr-Bangladesh Police Football Club reached semifinal of the ABG Bashundhara Federation Cup football beating Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 3-0 goals in the third quarterfinal match held at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj on Tuesday. 

In the day's match, Uzbek midfielder Javokhir Sokhibov and his compatriot Azamot Abdullev scored one goal each for Police. All the three goals came in the first half.

Jovokhir gave Bangladesh Police FC a deserving lead early in the 2nd minute of the match while Police took 2-0 lead when Sheikh Jamal's Uzbek defender Shokhrukhbek Kholmatov scored a suicidal goal in the 9th minute.

Azamot further widened the Police's margin scoring the third goal in the 23rd minute of the match.

After the breather, Sheikh Jamal however tried their best to stage a fight back in the match but they could not convert any goal in the remaining proceeding.

The last quarter final match between Abahani Limited, Dhaka and Fortis Football Club will be held on April 30 at Bashundhara Kings Arena in Dhaka. 

Earlier, Mohammedan Sporting Club and Bashundhara Kings confirmed their spot of last four. Mohammedan beat by 2-1 goals in the first quarterfinal while Bashundhara Kings defeated Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society by 2-0 goals in the second quarterfinal.
