Sheikh Jamal DC earn second win in BPL

Dhaka, Feb 8, 2022 - Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club recorded their second successive victory in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football when they blanked  Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 3-0 goals held today (Tuesday) at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi, Gazipur.

The day’s win saw Sheikh Jamal DC secured six points from two matches while Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra yet to open their account playing the same number of matches.  

In the day’s match, Nigerian forward Matthew Chinedu struck twice while Gambian striker Solomon King Kanform supported him with a lone goal for Sheikh Jamal who led the first half by 2-0 goals.

Sheikh Jamal DC launched attacks early and took the lead when Solomon King scored the first goal in the 20th minute of the match.

Matthew Chinedu doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 37th minute while after the breather, he sealed the victory scoring his second and third goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 55th minute of the match.

Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra  however failed to create any real scoring move in the remaining proceeding and they had to leave the field with empty hand.

Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra were totally off-colored.

Sheikh Jamal DC will play their next match against Bangladesh Police Football Club at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium (BFLMRS) in Munshiganj while Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra meet holders Bashundhara Kings at the same venue. Both the matches will be held on Saturday (Feb 12).

Earlier, Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi made a winning start in the league when they defeated Uttar Baridhara Club by 2-1 goals held at BFLMRS in Munshiganj while the freedom fighters Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad KC suffered a solitary goal defeat to Abahani Limited, Dhaka held at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi.

Wednesday’s matches: Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Saif Sporting Club at BFLMRS and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra vs Chittagong Abahani Limited at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi. Both the matches kick off at 3 pm.News Desk
