Berlin, 29 July  - Iran striker Sardar Azmoun has left Bayer Leverkusen for Dubai club Shabab Al-Ahli on a three-year deal, the German club announced Monday.

German media reported Leverkusen will receive up to six million euros ($6.5 million) for the 29-year-old, who was signed with the German champions until 2027.

Azmoun arrived in Leverkusen from Zenit Saint Petersburg in January 2022 and
played 44 games, scoring five times and laying on four assists.

The striker spent last season on loan with Serie A side Roma, missing Leverkusen's breakthrough Bundesliga title victory and German Cup win.

After returning from Roma, Azmoun reported late to Leverkusen's pre-season
training and was training alone. Azmoun has played 83 times for Iran, scoring 53 goals.
