Mohammedan tastes 1st win in Federation Cup

Dhaka, 24 Dec - Mohammedan Sporting Club tasted their first win in the Bashundhara Group Federation Cup football crushing Chittagong Abahani Limited by 6-0 goals held at Bashundhara Kings Arena in the capital on Tuesday.

In the day’s match, Uzbek midfielder Muzaffar Muzaffarov, Malian forward Souleymane Diabate forward Arif Hossain, midfielder Raju Ahmed Zisan forward Sourav Dewan and midfielder Md Jewel scored one goal each for Mohammedan in the one-sided affairs.
Muzaffar opened an account scoring the first goal for Mohammedan in the 11th minute while Diabate doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 14th minute of the match.

After the breather, Arif scored the third goal for Mohammedan in the 52nd minute while Zisan made the score line 4-0 in the 69th minute of the match.

Sourav joined the party scoring the fifth goal for Mohammedan in the 77th minute while Jewel completed the tally scoring the sixth goal for Mohammedan in the 80th minute of the match.

Mohammedan completely dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory on the day while the port city team was totally off-colored.

Both Mohammedan and Chittagong Abhani earlier lost their B group opening matches. Mohammedan suffered a shocking 1-0 defeat to Ragmatganj Muslim and Friends Society while Chittagong Abahani lost to Abahani Limited Dhaka by 3-0 goals.
