Police FC move to fifth position with facile win

Dhaka, 11 April -Mohammed Sheikh Bablu scored a brace as Bangladesh Police Football Club blanked Fakirerpool Young Men's Club by 3-0 goals in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League football held at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur on Friday.

Apart from Babu's two goals in the match, Dipok Roy supported him with a lone 
goal each for Police who led the first half.

The match was locked goalless at the breather.

Fakireerpool fought neck to neck with Police making the score sheet clean 
till the first half but after the breather Bablu finally broke the deadlock 
scoring the first goal for Police in the 71st minute.

Dipok doubled the lead scoring the second goal for the winning team in the 
78thminute and Babu completed the tally scoring his second and third goal for 
Police in the 85th minute of the match.  

The day's win saw, Police moved up fifth position in the league table with 16 
points from 11 matches while Fakirerpool, standing eighth position in the 
table, remained with their previous collection of nine points playing the 
same number of matches.

Earlier, in the first leg, Police defeated Fakirerpool by 4-1 goals held at 
Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.   
 
Meanwhile, Abahani Limited, Dhaka will play against Dhaka Wanderers Club at 
Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur (3.30 pm), Gopibagh outfit Brothers Union 
Club will face Fortis Football Club at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman 
Stadium in Munshiganj (3.30 pm) and holders Bashundhara Kings will take on 
Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited at Bashundhara Kings arena in the capital 
(5.30 pm).BSS
