UNO Cup football tournament held in Gopalganj

Gopalganj, 31 May- To keep the youth away from drugs and mobile phone addiction, the UNO Cup football tournament was held for the first time in Tungipara, Gopalganj Saturday.

Upazila executive officer Md. Moinul Haque formally inaugurated the football tournament as the chief guest at the upazila parishad ground.

Upazila assistant commissioner (Land) Maruf Dastegir, agriculture officer Rakibul Islam, upazila project implementation officer Abdul Hannan and Press Club president Imran Sheikh were present at the time.

A total of six teams from five unions and municipalities of the upazila took part in the competition. Later, prizes were distributed among the winners.

Tungipara upazila executive officer (UNO) Md. Moinul Haque said through sports, the youth will stay away from drugs, terrorism and mobile addiction.

He also hoped that UNO Cup football tournament would be organized in a large scale next year.BSS
