Police have launched an investigation after six children died at Ad-Din Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Maghbazar area on Wednesday morning.

Deputy Commissioner Sheikh Zahidul Islam of the Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police confirmed the incident and said authorities are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

“We received information about the deaths of six children at the hospital. The exact cause has not yet been confirmed,” he said.

Police officials said members of law enforcement agencies had reached the hospital and were collecting information as part of the investigation.

Authorities said further details are expected after the initial inquiry and medical assessments are completed.
