Cheques for cash assistance brings smiles in the faced of terminally ill people in Kalapara.



Patuakhali: Checks for medical cash assistance allocated by the Department of Social Services put a smile on the faces of terminally ill people in Patuakhali's Kalapara. On Wednesday at 10 am in the Upazila Parishad conference room, State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Md. Mohibbur Rahman MP distributed a one-time cash assistance check of Tk 50,000 to 58 people suffering from cancer, kidney, liver cirrhosis, stroke, paralyzed, congenital heart disease and thalassemia as the chief guest. .

Later in the same conference room, dry food was distributed to 250 beneficiaries under the initiative of the Red Crescent Society, 100 bundles of wave tin to 52 cyclone victims and 3,000 taka grant checks per person, , 3000 tree saplings of different species were distributed by the Forest Department in educational institutions under the Climate Trust Fund, 20-50 thousand taka donation check of Prime Minister's relief fund were distributed among 91 needy people and 5-10 thousand taka donation check of state minister's voluntary fund were distributed among 104 needy people. CPP Deputy Director Md. Asaduzzaman mederated the distribution function. 

Upazila Parishad Chairman Abdul Motaleb Talukdar, UNO Md. Rabiul Islam, Municipal Mayor Bipul Chandra Howladar, Red Crescent Society Director Md. Mizanur Rahman, Social Services Directorate Deputy Director Shila Rani Das, Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Prof. Yusuf Ali, women Vice Chairman Shahina Parveen Seema,  Disaster and Relief Officer Md. Humayun Kabir, Municipal Panel Mayor Md. Humayun Kabir was present at that time. .

Later, in the same conference room, the State Minister attended the monthly coordination meeting with the newly elected representatives in the 6th Kalapara Upazila Parishad Election 2024. Speaking as the chief guest at the event, State Minister Mohib said, 'Common people voted for me and elected their representative to form a peaceful smart Kalapara upazila free from terrorism, extortion, Shalish trade and drugs. If any of you are involved in its disruptive activities, I have no compromise with him. At this time, he further said, "In the interests of the farmers, the government canals and reservoirs of Kalapara-Rangabali two upazilas should be kept open. The state minister ordered the cancellation of all the illegal dams if anyone has any lease in it .
