An Indian tourist tragically died after falling ill at a hotel in Dhaka’s Mirpur area on Saturday.

The deceased, Akbar Ali Mondol, 38, from Murshidabad, West Bengal, had arrived in Dhaka with a group of five friends for a tour. According to his friend, Farjul Mondol, the group checked into the hotel at around 7 p.m. on Friday and shared a room.

Around midnight, Akbar reportedly screamed and collapsed while asleep. His friends immediately rushed him to the nearby Mirpur 2 Heart Foundation Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, his condition worsened, and he was transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital at approximately 4:10 a.m. Unfortunately, doctors declared him dead shortly thereafter.

The police outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital confirmed the death. Authorities are investigating the cause of death, though no foul play is suspected at this time.
