Magura Girl’s Health Critical at CMH, Dhaka: CA's Press Wing
The health condition of the eight-year-old girl from Magura, who is currently fighting for her life at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, has been described as extremely critical, according to Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, on Thursday.
"The condition of the child is dire; she suffered two cardiac arrests today. The second episode occurred after about 30 minutes of CPR, during which she showed signs of reversal. However, her brain is not functioning, and her GCS (Glasgow Coma Scale) level is at 3," Azad Majumder reported. "Additionally, her blood pressure and oxygen levels are critically low."
In medical terms, a "GCS" score of 3 indicates a severe coma, with minimal brain activity.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam confirmed that the girl's "brainstem reflexes" and "pupil reflex" had shown further decline since Tuesday.
Despite the severity of her condition, doctors at CMH are doing everything possible to aid in her recovery.
The girl was initially admitted to Magura General Hospital but was later transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital due to the worsening of her condition. On Thursday, she was moved to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) before being transferred to CMH for advanced care.
