
Bangladesh’s first complete specialised dental hospital, Advanced Dental and Maxillofacial (ADM) Hospital, was inaugurated yesterday.
Bangladesh’s first fully specialised dental hospital, Advanced Dental and Maxillofacial (ADM) Hospital, was inaugurated on Wednesday at a ceremony held at the China-Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.
Located in Dhanmondi-2, the hospital will provide round-the-clock services, including both indoor and outdoor care as well as intensive care unit facilities.
The hospital has been established with the coordination of more than 100 doctors and will offer services from specialist consultants across all major dental disciplines. Treatments will cover a wide range of oral and dental conditions, including oral cancer, tumours, jaw and maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics, endodontics, and paediatric dentistry.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration, Bangladesh Medical University Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Shahinul Alam described the initiative as timely and commendable, saying a modern specialised dental hospital would significantly benefit patients across the country. He also stressed the importance of infection control, accreditation, and strict safety protocols to minimise hospital-acquired infections.
Bangladesh Medical University Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Mujibur Rahman Howlader said the hospital would help elevate the country’s dental sector and enhance its international recognition.
Other speakers highlighted the expertise of Bangladeshi dental professionals and expressed interest in academic collaboration and training opportunities with the new hospital.
ADM Hospital Managing Director Dr Mostafiz said the institution aims to become a global role model in specialised dental care, while Vice-Chairman and Sapporo Dental Principal Dr Nurul Amin said the hospital’s services would be accessible to people from all economic backgrounds.
Chairman of ADM Hospital Maj Gen (retd) Dr Golam Mohiuddin Chowdhury said further development of the institution would require collective efforts and noted that the hospital is equipped with advanced technology to deliver modern dental treatment.
At the ceremony, consultants from various departments presented scientific overviews of their treatment methods and services.
