Patuakhali: Children infected with measles are returning home after recovering from treatment at the Kalapara 50-bed hospital indoor in Patuakhali. Their parents are breathing a sigh of relief as the children infected with measles are recovering due to the relentless efforts of doctors, nurses and the parents of the infected children. Although there is currently an outbreak of patients infected with measles, dengue and diarrhoea, their relatives have expressed gratitude to the Upazila Health Administration for the patients recovering and returning home under the treatment and care of the hospital authorities.

It is known that 133 infected patients have returned home after treatment in July. Currently, 10 patients are admitted to the hospital, almost all of them are now healthy. 29 people have been admitted in the last nine days since Tuesday. 90 percent of these admitted patients are children between the ages of one and seven to eight years. However, many of the infected patients come for treatment from the neighboring upazilas of Taltoli, Amtoli and Rangabali.

Dr. Bikash Roy, a pediatrician at Kalapara Hospital, said that the patient pressure has reduced compared to before. Besides, children infected with measles recover quickly if they receive proper care and treatment. There is nothing to worry about. - Gofran Palash
