The eight-year-old girl who was raped in Magura on Wednesday has been transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka for advanced medical care.

She was taken to CMH in an ICU ambulance from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at around 5:05 pm on Saturday, DMCH Director Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman said.

Earlier, a medical board comprising specialists from four DMCH departments was formed to oversee her treatment.

The incident occurred when the victim visited her sister’s in-laws’ house at Nijnanduali village in Magura’s Sadar upazila.

She went to bed with her sister at night, but in the dead of night, her sister found her missing and began searching for her.

After a frantic search, the girl was discovered unconscious a few yards away from the house.

She was initially admitted to Magura General Hospital and later transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital due to her critical condition. On Thursday, she was moved to DMCH before being shifted to CMH. - UNB
