In a continued show of solidarity, Bangladesh has dispatched its second mission of emergency medicines and relief supplies to Myanmar following the catastrophic earthquake that struck the region. The aid was delivered this morning via three transport aircraft from the Bangladesh Army (BA) and Bangladesh Air Force (BAF), under the directive of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
The mission includes a specialized team of 55 personnel, comprising rescue experts from all three branches of the military and medical professionals. Additionally, 37 crew members are accompanying the mission aboard the aircraft, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.
The relief shipment contains vital supplies, including eight tonnes of dry food, 2.5 tonnes of water, four tonnes of medicine, one tonne of hygiene products, and 1.5 tonnes of relief tents to support the affected communities in Myanmar.
This follows Bangladesh’s initial mission on Sunday, which saw the delivery of similar urgent supplies, including medical teams, tents, and food, aimed at alleviating the immediate needs of earthquake victims. The Bangladesh Armed Forces, led by the Army, continue to work closely with Myanmar authorities to coordinate further aid efforts.
