Doctors from Singapore arrive in Dhaka on 25 July 2025.
Another team of doctors from Singapore arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday night to assist in the treatment of those injured in the recent plane crash at Milestone School and College.
The team landed at around 10:40pm and will work alongside experts from the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, providing technical support, according to a statement from the health ministry.
The newly arrived medical professionals include Chow Wing Kit Chester (Zou Yongjie), Wei Guiru, Tan Kwee Yuen, Wong Jolin, and Irene Wong Mei Jin.
This is the second medical team from Singapore to arrive in Dhaka following the crash. The first team reached the capital on 23 July and has been actively supporting treatment efforts at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
The tragic incident occurred on 21 July when a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) F-7 BGI fighter jet crashed into the Diabari campus of Milestone College in Uttara shortly after takeoff, triggering a massive fire.
The aircraft, which took off from BAF Base Bir Uttom AK Khandker at 1:06pm, crashed due to a technical failure, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The pilot ejected from the plane but later succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH).
The crash happened just moments before classes were scheduled to end at the primary school building.
Following the accident, the Air Force promptly formed a high-level investigation committee to determine the cause of the crash.
