Bangladesh has entered the ‘Very High’ GovTech Group in GovTech Maturity Index 2022 launched Wednesday night by World Bank. Bangladesh scored 0.84 (out of 1.00) and placed 29th among 198 countries. Although the World Bank doesn't publish rankings, rather just scores, it is a huge achievement for Bangladesh indeed. The previous score was 0.72 and ranked 54th in 2020.

Most importantly, there are some significant improvements we made this year-

1. Among 4 components of GTMI, Bangladesh achieved 'Category A: Very High' GTMI in 3 components and ‘Category B: High GTMI' in 1 component.

2. Bangladesh is in the second position in South Asia, following India (Score: 0.94, Rank: 7)
