Dhaka, Mar 5 – Meta’s Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, Threads services faced global outage for around an hour on Tuesday night.

The services were restored at around 10:20 pm on Tuesday after facing global outage at 9:21BdST on Tuesday, according to Downdetector.

It was reported that Facebook, Instagram and Messenger and Threads users were getting logged out from their accounts.

All four social media networks are owned by California-based Meta.

London-based internet monitoring firm Netblocks said on X that four Meta platforms -- Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and Threads -- were “currently experiencing outages related to login sessions in multiple countries.” But the firm, which advocates for internet freedom, said there was no sign of “country-level internet disruptions or filtering,” which are typically imposed by governments, according to AP.

Andy Stone, Meta's head communications, acknowledged the issues on X, formerly known as Twitter, and said the company is “working on this now.” - UNB
