Price of jute has increased due to launch of jute bags

Dhaka, October 27: Textiles and Jute Adviser Brigadier General (Retd.) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain said that the price of jute has increased in the country due to the initiative of launching jute bags.

Many jute fabrics are being produced in the country. An initiative has been taken to create jute exhibition corner in the embassies of different countries. This will promote the country's jute products more. A separate research institute project is being prepared for more research in textiles and jute.

He said many people do not get jobs because of weakness in English language. Work should be done to increase employment in this country by increasing skills through the use of language institutes.

The adviser said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the grand finale of Textile Talent Hunt Season 8 at Regency Hotel in the capital yesterday. He handed over the trophy to the winners.

The award was given to four companies in four categories. The companies are Masco Group-Processing (Garments) Category, Urmi Group-Product Development Category, Shasha Denims-Marketing and Market Development Category and Coates Bangladesh-Human Rrsources Organizational Development Category.

Chaired by Professor Dr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro-VC, BGMEA University of Fashion and Technology (BUFT) the function was also addressed by Md Hatim, President, BKMEA and Shaukat Aziz Russell, President, BTMA.

The awards are given to encourage a culture of improvement in the textile and apparel industry by inspiring industry stakeholders to develop innovative solutions that address current challenges and future needs. The Textile Innovation Awards aim to celebrate pioneering efforts in the textile and apparel industry and to promote organizations that are setting new standards of excellence and innovation in the textile sector through recognition. It will serve as a benchmark of excellence in the textile and apparel industry.
