OIC secretary general Hissein Brahim Taha attended a ministerial conference in Cairo on humanitarian aid to Gaza
Jeddah, 3 December, 2024 - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, participated in the Ministerial Conference on Humanitarian Assistance to the Gaza Strip under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which was organized in Cairo on December 2, 2024, by the Arab Republic of Egypt in cooperation with the United Nations under the title "A Year after the Humanitarian Disaster in Gaza: Urgent Needs and Permanent Solutions."
In his speech during the conference, the OIC Secretary-General stressed the importance of strengthening the solidarity and support of the international community towards the worsening humanitarian challenges in the Gaza Strip, renewing the organization’s insistence on the necessity of achieving an immediate, permanent, and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and putting an end to all Israeli violations in the occupied Palestinian territory, including Al-Quds Al-Sharif.
The Secretary-General appreciated the humanitarian assistance provided by countries and organizations to the Palestinian people, stressing the determination of the OIC and its institutions to remain an effective partner in all efforts aimed at alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people, strengthening their steadfastness, and calling on the international community to put an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression, ending settlements and occupation of Palestinian land, and establishing an independent Palestinian State on the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds as its capital. – OIC News
