Jeddah, 07-04-2025 - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the bombing of a journalists' tent in Khan Yunis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, by Israeli occupation forces. This attack resulted in the death of a journalist and injuries to several other media professionals. The OIC stated that this incident represents a blatant violation of freedom of the press and media. It reflects the ongoing policies of the Israeli occupation aimed at suppressing the truth, silencing voices, concealing its crimes, and preventing information from reaching the international community.

The OIC holds the Israeli occupation authorities fully responsible for the deaths of over 210 journalists and media professionals since the start of the genocidal campaign waged by the Israeli occupation against the Gaza Strip. The organization reiterated its call for the International Criminal Court to continue investigating all crimes committed by Israel, the occupying power, against civilians, including media professionals and journalists who face deliberate killings, arbitrary arrests, and physical assaults related to their work.

Additionally, the OIC urged relevant international institutions, particularly UNESCO, to take all necessary measures to ensure the prosecution of those responsible for these crimes and to provide adequate protection for press freedom and the safety of journalists operating in the Occupied Palestinian Territory in accordance with international humanitarian law and relevant international agreements. - OIC News
