India is examining a request from Bangladesh for diesel supplies while prioritising its own domestic fuel needs, Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Thursday.

He said New Delhi will consider the country’s diesel availability and refining capacity before making any decision on supplying the fuel to Bangladesh.

Jaiswal added that India is also reviewing similar requests for petroleum products from other countries, including Sri Lanka and Maldives.
