A Chinese company is set to invest $22 million to establish a fashion and beauty products manufacturing facility at the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Economic Zone.
Adeline Beauty Technology (Bangladesh) Co., Ltd. signed a land lease agreement with BEPZA on Wednesday at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka to set up the factory.
The company plans to produce a range of fashion hair and beauty items, including wigs, eyelashes and cosmetic nails. The project is expected to create employment for around 4,170 Bangladeshi nationals.
Most of the products will be exported to key international markets such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the United Arab Emirates, Russia and Mexico.
Officials said the investment would help strengthen Bangladesh’s position in the rapidly expanding global beauty and personal care sector, where demand has been growing steadily across North America, Europe and the Middle East.
The agreement was signed by Md Tanvir Hossain, Executive Director (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Hang Sun, Managing Director of Adeline Beauty Technology (Bangladesh) Co., Ltd. The signing ceremony was witnessed by BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain.
Speaking at the event, the BEPZA chief welcomed the investment and reaffirmed the authority’s commitment to ensuring a secure, compliant and business-friendly environment for both local and foreign investors.
