Elderly man killed during robbery in Old Dhaka
An elderly man was killed by criminals during robbery at his Chawkbazar house in the capital early Friday.
An elderly man was killed by criminals during robbery at his Chawkbazar house in the capital early Friday (November 18, 2022).
The deceased was identified as Haji Mansur Ahmed, 78, hailed from Chawkbazar Khaje Dewan Lane.
According to police, unidentified criminals broke into a house at Chawkbazar area and killed Haji Mansur and looted valuables from the house.
Chawkbazar Police Station OC Abdul Qaiyyum confirmed the matter.
He said the incident occurred on Thursday night when Mansur's family members went out to attend a wedding. However, Mansur was unable to go to the programme due to illness.
Money and gold ornaments were taken from the house, he said, adding that the police are investigating the incident.
