Drug peddler held with 50kg hemp in Motijheel

DB of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a drug peddler along with 50 kilograms of hemp from Motijheel area.



Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a drug peddler along with 50 kilograms of hemp from Motijheel area in the capital on Wednesday night.
The arrested is Rakib Bepari.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB conducted a drive in front of Bangladesh Bank High School at night and arrested the man along with the hemp, said assistant commissioner of police SM Hasan Siddique.
During the initial interrogation, Rakib admitted that he had been collecting the hemp from Brahmanbaria district and supplying it to Dhaka and its adjacent areas.
Legal action has been taken against the arrested person in this regard, the police official added.
