Gulistan blast: Army finds no explosives

Bomb disposal unit of the army did not find any evidence of explosives in connection with the explosion that took place at a building adjacent to the BRTC bus counter in Dhaka’s Gulistan, killing 18 people so far and injuring 75 others.
Around 11pm on Tuesday (March 7), Kaiser Bari, chief of the bomb disposal unit, said that they initially experimented with explosive detection equipment at the scene. After initial observation, we found no explosives there.
The explosion took place on the ground floor of a seven-storied building on Syed Nazrul Islam Avenue in Gulistan around 4:45pm.
There were sanitary shops on the ground floor of the building where the explosion occurred. Eleven units of fire service were conducting rescue operation.
