7 suffer burn injuries as Gulshan building catches fire

Three people sustained burn wounds as a fire broke out at a building in the capital’s Gulshan area on Wednesday morning.



Dhaka, Oct 27 : Seven people sustained burn wounds as a fire broke out at a building in the capital’s Gulshan area on Wednesday morning.

The fire broke out on the second floor of the six-storey building on road number 103 of Gulshan 2 around 11.37am.

After over an hour of effort eight fire tenders managed to douse the fire, said duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters control room, Md Rafi.

Of the injured -2 women and a child- were admitted to the Burn Unit of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn And Plastic Surgery.

Citing the victims, Deputy Director of Fire Service and Civil Defense Debasish Bardhan said that there was a sudden blast in a flat that left the AC and glasses of the house destroyed.

However, the source of the fire could bort be ascertained yet, he said, reports UNB.
