Five buses torched in city during third time blockade

The fire incidents have taken place at Hazaribagh, Tantibazar, Kakoli, Mirpur and Dhanmondi.



The miscreants have set fire to five passenger buses in the city in 27 hours during the 48hours nationwide blockade called by BNP-Jammat for the third consecutive time.

"Miscreants have reportedly torched five passenger buses in the last 27 hours from 6am on Wednesday to 9am Thursday during the 48hours nationwide blockade called by BNP-Jammat", said fire service media cell in charge Mohammad Shahjahan Sikder.

The fire incidents have taken place at Hazaribagh, Tantibazar, Kakoli, Mirpur and Dhanmondi, he said.

During the blockade, a bus of Akash Paribahan was set on fire at Sadarghat of Tantibazar intersection, a minibus in front of Banani-Kakoli police outpost, a bus of Ramjan Paribahan at Jigatola in Dhanmondi, a VIP transport bus in Hazaribagh and a bus of Prajapati Paribahan at Mirpur section-13.
