The first group of Bangladeshi nationals seeking repatriation from conflict-hit Iran arrived in Dhaka today, as part of ongoing efforts by the government to ensure the safe return of its citizens.

A total of 28 Bangladeshis, those reached in Pakistan by road earlier, arrived in Bangladesh from Karachi by air today, the foreign ministry said in a statement here.

This Bangladeshi group, seeking repatriation, had safely crossed into Pakistan on June 27 after travelling by road from Iran.

The ministry said the Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran, in close coordination with the Pakistan authorities, facilitated the movement of the Bangladeshi nationals and arranged for their return home.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of Bangladeshi nationals abroad, particularly during times of crisis, through active diplomatic channels and support mechanisms, reports BSS.
