Malaysia Deports 96 Bangladeshis from Airport
Malaysian authorities have deported 131 foreign nationals, including 96 Bangladeshis, from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) after they were denied entry into the country.
The individuals were stopped at Terminal 1 on Monday, July 14, after failing to meet necessary immigration requirements. Officials from the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency reported that some travelers, despite claiming to be tourists planning to stay for a month, were found carrying only 500 ringgit—raising doubts about their actual intentions.
Authorities cited several reasons for the denial of entry, including suspicious accommodation bookings, failure to report to immigration upon arrival, and lack of sufficient funds to support their stay in Malaysia.
The operation, conducted on July 11 between 3 PM and 10 PM, involved screening over 300 foreign nationals at the international arrivals area and gates C1 to C37. Among those turned away were 96 Bangladeshi men, 30 Pakistani men, and 5 Indonesian citizens.
